Published by MoMA in 1947, this folio showcases Paul Klee’s extraordinary contribution to twentieth-century art through 40 of his etchings and lithographs created between 1903 and 1931. These prints show Klee’s transformation from a traditional draftsman to a bold modernist. The plate images are loose, individually printed on stiff card, with eight in colour. The collection comes with a 40-page booklet featuring James Thrall Soby’s original essay. All sheets and booklet are housed in a green cloth-covered, ribbon-bound presentation box.
