Charles Albert Youldon was born on 9 January 1893 in Camden Town, London, England. During the First World War, he served as an electrician in the Royal Air Force (RAF/RFC), with the service number 229306, having enlisted in 1917

Youldon emerged as a British painter known particularly for his landscape and still-life works. A notable piece from 1943, A Farm Building, is preserved in the Barnet Local Studies & Archives, highlighting his engagement with rural sights and architecture
