A very striking contemporary mixed media piece. Strong nods to Northern English artists like Theodore Major and Lowry but also reminiscent of Chagal and Josef Herman. Thick impasto acrylic is combined with rags and what appears to be chipped stone and wood, but the effect is a scene that has depth and poignancy.
